Images in notes

Adding images, captions, resizing, cropping, and where images are stored.

Images are blocks: they move, duplicate, and delete like any other block.

Adding an image

  • Paste an image from the clipboard.
  • Drop image files onto the editor. Each file becomes its own block.
  • Insert an Image block from the slash menu and click it to pick a file.

PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, and BMP are supported, up to 20 MB per image. Pasting an image from another note creates a separate copy.

Captions, size, and alignment

Every image has a caption line, a drag handle for resizing, and controls to align it left, center, or right.

Right-click an image, or hover it and press Image options, for Replace image, Crop and reposition, Caption, Align, Size, Copy image, Download, and Delete.

Crop and reposition lets you pick an aspect ratio or crop freely, then drag to frame the picture. Size snaps the width to 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of the column. Copy image and Download use the cropped image, not the original file.

Where images are stored

Images are stored in Mnemo's local data folder and referenced by the note, not embedded in it. Pasted images are saved as files, not linked to their source.
