Notifications
Toasts, the bell menu, and how to silence the pop-ups.
Mnemo tells you things in two places: a toast, and the bell that keeps the same message once the toast is gone. Mnemo has no account and no server of its own, so nothing here reaches your operating system, your inbox, or your phone.
What raises one
Notifications come from work the app finished or failed in the background: an import or export that completed, a PDF that was written, a save that did not go through, an update that is ready to install.
Toasts and the bell
A toast holds for five seconds, and hovering the stack pauses the countdown. A few never expire on their own, such as the update notice.
The bell holds every notification the session has raised, up to two hundred. The list is kept in memory, so closing Mnemo clears it.
Turning the pop-ups off
Settings under Notifications has one switch, Toasts, on by default. Turning it off suppresses only the pop-up card; the entry is still written to the bell.
A silenced toast costs you its buttons, which die with it. Where an answer has to outlive the pop-up, the bell gets a link instead: the update notice leaves a link to Settings under Updates.
