Decks, cards, and the review loop.
The flashcards module has three parts: decks hold cards, sessions review them, and the scheduler decides when each card is due.
Decks
A deck holds cards that belong together, usually one subject or course. Prefer a few broad decks over many small ones; tags and filters handle finer grouping.
Writing cards that work
- One fact per card. If the answer has three parts, make three cards.
- Ask a question. A card should be something you can try to answer before revealing the back.
- Use your own words. Copied sentences test recognition; your own phrasing tests recall.
The review loop
A session shows each due card. You recall the answer, reveal it, and grade how well it went. The grade sets when the card comes back: hard cards return soon, easy ones stretch out over weeks and months.
Missing a day is fine. Due cards wait until you return.
